Our Honeymoon

We had a wonderful 5 day honeymoon in Branson, MO. We stayed at Big Cedar Lodge in a cute little log cabin. The setting was really nice.

We did all kinds of fun stuff:

Dixie Stampede: Before the show started there was a comedian that entertained everyone for a while with all kinds of tricks and jokes, he did some really amazing tricks, juggling big knives, etc. Then the show started and that was really neat. We were seated on the North side (it was like the North and South side of the Civil War, our waiters were dressed in blue, and the Southern ones were dressed in gray), I cheered for the south even though I was on the North side ; ) Throughout the evening they had different competitions between the North and South, and guess what? The South won! YEA!!

Noah Sight and Sound: The theater is huge, and there is a front stage and a stage on either side of the audience. Half way through they open up the sides, so it feels like you are actually in the ark and you have animals on all sides of you. There was real animals including camels, goats, cows, peacocks, turkeys and many other animals. The show was real good, the gospel was portrayed clearly through the story.

Butterfly Palace: First you go into a small theater room and watch a 3-d video of the butterfly's life, and also the life of the preying mantis, then you go into this big room that is filled with birds and butterflies. There is all kinds of neat flowers and feeding stations that the butterflies land on so that you can take pictures of them. Then you go into this maze of mirrors. It is really dark and for a time you wonder if you are lost!

Silver Dollar City: We rode  the Powder Keg roller coaster and the Wild Fire roller coaster both front seat, which we are both quite proud of. Powder Keg was a little scary at first because I had never been on a roller coaster before and didn't know what to expect. But we really enjoyed Wild Fire. There was quite a view from up on top!! We also ate at a neat old fashioned restaurant at SDC.

Titanic Museum: It sure makes you feel like you were actually there on the Titanic. As you go in, they give you a boarding pass with a person's name that was actually on the Titanic, and throughout the museum you have to look for clues as to what happened to your person. Then when you get to the last part, it has all the names of the survivors and victims of the Titanic. Mine was of a large family, and they all died. There was some really neat artifacts from the Titanic. Since Taylor and I both love history we really enjoyed the museum.

The Dutton Family Show: They are a family with seven older children that play all kinds of instruments and sing a variety of music. They are also very comical! We both really enjoyed this show!!

We also ate at a variety of restaurants, including Lamberts (a really fun place to eat, they go around with a tray of rolls and if you want some they just throw them to you from across the room! I ordered chicken salad and it came in a huge skillet, Taylor thought it was so funny that I had a salad that was bigger than I am! Also the drinks are served in HUGE travel mugs...) One night we ate at the Worman house, a fancy restaraunt at the resort, it was really nice and relaxing!

We had a wonderful time, but it was also nice to come home and get settled in....We are thankful for such a wonderful honeymoon.
